prayer challenge - day 5

Lord, there are a lot of things to love in this world.Lots of good things. And, of course, lot of not good things. My prayer today, for myself, my husband, and my children, is that we would love Your Word. That we would find “Your Word more precious than gold, than much pure gold, and sweeter than honey, than honey out of the comb” Psalm 19:10

Cultivate that love in us, Lord Grant that we would taste it, so that we can love it, and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8)

prayer challenge - day 4

Lord, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us and let us run with endurance the race that is marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

Remind us of the witnesses -those who have already finished their race and are cheering us on. Those who are running beside us and leaning on us. Those who are not in in the race but are watching us, deciding whether or not to join. Remind us of all those witnesses. Let that be our encouragement to lay aside anything, even good things, that keeps us from running well. Let us commit to stop sinning, and thereby avoid the traps of the enemy. Let us focus on our race, not the lane of our neighbor. And, Lord, let us not quit. Sometimes this race is hard. Sometimes it’s lonely. Sometimes we are so tired, so weary, so discouraged. Let us not quit, dear Lord! Send us encouragement today….and may we be that cup of refreshing encouragement to someone else. Help us persevere. Help our children to persevere. And our spouse. Let us not quit!

prayer challenge - day 3

Today let’s pray for our nation. We all know that our country is in a hard place. Divided along political, ideaological, religious, and ethnic lines. There is bitterness, even hatred. Violence, slavery, murder of innocents. Things that only a few years ago seemed unthinkable are commonplace today. Evil and vile things. Sometimes I feel helpless, don’t you?

We are not helpless.

We are responsible.

God’s Word is clear. 2 Chronicles 7:13,14 says “If I (God) shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”

Yes, dear Sisters, we Christians must bear much responsibility for the sad plight our country is in. It is we who must humble ourselves. It is we who must turn from our wicked ways. It is we who must seek the Lord.

Then He will heal our land.

Let us do that. Today.

prayer challenge - Day 2

Today, let’s pray Ephesians 5:1,2 - that we would “therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, as a fragrant aroma”

Love. It’s the point of the Law and the prophets. It’s God’s supreme commandment - that we love Him, and that we love our neighbor. As we pray this passage today, let’s ask God to show us specific ways to walk in love today. How can we imitate Him to the people we come in contact with? How can we give ourselves up and present a fragrant aroma to God today?

Spend a few minutes listening to the Holy Spirit so He can tell you specifically how to love today…

Prayer challenge - Day 1

Welcome to our commitment to a month of praying without ceasing! I can’t wait to see what God does in us, for us and through us. I’d love to hear from every one of you as you go through this month. Share how He moves in your life!

Today let’s pray for the salvation of our family members. This is the most important thing we can pray. That God would “open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light, from the dominion of Satan, to God” Acts 26:18

If all your people are saved, then rejoice! Praise His name for His excellent mercies to you!

And then pray for the children yet born into your family, the generations to come - “that they should put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God but keep His commandments” Psalm 78:5
